- Valid passport
- Online form DS-160
- Visa fee payment (USD 185) and appointment
- In-person interview at a US embassy or consulate in Germany (most applicants)
- Proof of German residence permit, ties, funds and travel purpose
B1/B2 visitor visa, application fee USD 185 plus a possible nationality-based issuance (reciprocity) fee. A USD 250 visa integrity fee under HR-1 was announced; collection status not confirmed on travel.state.gov. Listed in the Jan 2026 immigrant visa pause, which does not affect tourist visas.
